Meet the Certified Piedmontese Team! Travis Maxson, Regional Sales Manager
In this installment of our employee spotlight series, we’re learning more about Travis Maxson, one of our Certified Piedmontese sales managers.
Q: As a sales manager, what are your main duties?
Travis: A few of my responsibilities include maintaining relationships with current customers, establishing and building relationships with new customers, setting weekly and monthly ad promotions for retailers, and calling customers for weekly orders.
Q: What do you enjoy most about your position?
Travis: Probably the relationships I get to build with my customers. The best conversations I’ve had in the past have nothing to do with beef.
Q: What do you like most about Certified Piedmontese?
Travis: Where the company has gone since I’ve been here, and the opportunity the company gave me as an intern 6 years ago. Back then, not many people knew about the breed and the program. Now, Certified Piedmontese is more of a household name, but there’s still a small business feel within the office.
Q What’s your favorite cut of Certified Piedmontese beef, and what’s your favorite way to prepare it?
Travis: I really don’t have a front runner, but if it were a life or death decision, I’d go with the ribeye. I’m a pretty simple guy—salt and pepper each side, get the grill to medium/high heat, grill on one side for 6 minutes, flip it, and finish it off on the other side for about 5 more minutes. Let it rest for a few minutes for a nice medium-rare.
Q: What are 3 things most people don’t know about you?
Travis: 1) I’m a big Marvel Universe nerd. 2) I can sew. 3) I am deathly afraid of sharks but love Shark Week.
Q: I’m happiest when…
Travis: I’m attending a Husker sporting event, playing basketball, or lifting weights.
