Beef & Broccoli Grain Bowls
This easy-to-make (and healthy!) take on beef and broccoli features deliciously tender and flavorful Certified Piedmontese flat iron steaks and a tangy sauce that can be whipped up in under a minute. Serve with your grain of choice!
2 Certified Piedmontese flat iron steaks
1½ cups cooked farrow, quinoa, barley, or brown rice, prepared according to instructions
1 small head broccoli, cut into small florets
1 tablespoon hot sauce
1 tablespoon sesame oil
2 tablespoons sweet chili sauce
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 carrot, small diced
¼ cup sliced scallions
Kosher salt and freshly cracked black pepper to taste
Canola or olive oil, as needed
To a large sauté pan over medium-high heat, add a tablespoon of olive oil and heat. In a small mixing bowl, combine the hot sauce, sesame oil, sweet chili sauce, and soy and mix well. Season the steaks with salt and pepper and sear in the preheated oil to desired doneness, then set aside. In the same pan, sear the broccoli and carrots and sauté until vegetables soften up and begin to brown, about 5 minutes. Add the cooked grains and sauté for another 5 minutes. Add the scallions. Slice the steak and serve over each portion with the sauce drizzled on top or on the side.
